i highly recommend hair by maria on broadway, across from the safeway (near macdonald). if you are a student, you get a $12 haircut. she did not try to convince me that my clean hair needed a shampoo, or that my hair should all be cut off, nor did she feather it. she did ask what conditioner i used ("that's a pretty good one" -- the only time a hairdresser has approved of my drugstore products) and advised me to get a slightly oval shape in the back, which worried me because in the past this has meant a tail, but no, it's good. she also gave me lots of styling ideas, some of which actually wouldn't take long. and though my hair is currently huge, that's because i went walking in the rain after the cut.
$12!!! for a haircut i like! i've shelled out three times as much for bonnie tyler look-alike hair. this haircut is, i would say, the third best haircut i have ever had. the first worked mainly because i was in penticton, which lacked humidity, and the second was great until it started growing out (and i had the dreaded tail).
and i bought a new bra. woot! i returned to diane's on granville, and was greeted by a nice lady, and a helpful fitter, who told me if i was sure of my size, she would grab it for me, but not to hesitate to ask for help. much better than the last time, with creepy and unhelpful lady. and the bra was less than i expected, but still the same brand i always get. (i never ask for a particular brand, but i always end up with prima donna.) it's not quite as pretty as the one i'm currently wearing, but it's also not falling apart, so there you go. maybe that's why it cost less.
i found out i can use my visa points to get a new blender (i totalled the old one ... never attempt to use a blender before having a cup of coffee). buuut ... i'd have to spend like, thousands of dollars to get the points up, so it's probably just easier and cheaper to get another cheap one. and to not break it this time.
i want to see the 40-year-old virgin. i've heard it's good, i've heard it's awful, but you know, steve carell. i'm trying to get dom and heather to see it, but so far, no dice. they will cave in. oh yes. i'll make them.

How do you solve a problem like Maria?
or perhaps, how would she solve a problem like my hair?It sounds like she did a boffo job on your do.
For me, there is too much!! It takes a long time to dry, it is
difficult to "style" (and I've always been ba-aad at that),
and, dagnabbit, it's freakin' hot! and I mean sweaty.
But it took so much effort, and I did it all myself....
I have this theory that no points program is actually worth it.
Unless you're my friend Ian's mudder who works at Slave On Foods,
and has a top-secret algorithm for accessing how to maximize Points.
Otherwise they are about as much use as giga-wing scores.
-laffs- I may be bitter.
The "40-year-old virgin" looks enticing in a "oh-this-could-be-freain'-horrible" kind of way.
hah...I await your movie review.
N hey, how did you like sin city and I
I have yet to see sin city, but I really did enjoy huckabees.
salut!
